HyperX Cloud or cloud II?

Aaronius_Leonius

I made a post earlier asking if the Cloud II was worth it. I later asked on the same post if there was any difference in sound quality and no one answered. I figured starting a new post was a good way to find out. I am just wondering if there is a difference in sound quality on the cloud and cloud II. I wouldn't use the included 7.1 audio adapter anyway. Which one should I get?

They are the exact same headset with a 7.1 adapter. Buy whichever is cheaper

Thanks. The Cloud is $20 cheaper and has a black and white color option. I would need to use an adapter for my phone but I don't think that is an issue at all.

In my experience, the 7.1 that came with Cloud II wasn't really good, and it was plagued with white noise problems, even after getting replacement dongle. However, since the cable off the headphones is single 4 pole, you will need a splitter if you wan't to use the mic without the 7.1 dongle.

Ok. Does the noise cancelling work?

My PC sits something like one meter from my head, I have bit of an aggressive fan curve on my GTX 1070, and It really didn't ever bother me. When its very quiet during a game, I might hear it, but it works well enough that it's not something that ever really would bother me.

Short answer: yes.

Well I probably shouldn't get the cloud II then because my mom will think I'm ignoring her if she is calling me.

Cloud 1 have a split mic and headphone jack. The Cloud 2 is a combo headphone mic jack wtih a USB 7.1 adapter. And there is no active noise canceling on the cloud 2 as far as I could tell.

Cloud is cheaper and I would rather use my own adapter for fake 7.1 audio. The cloud also has a really nice black and white color scheme. If it turns out that it is noice cancelling, I will let my mom know that so she doesn't get stresses trying to get me to do the dishes.

Can you give me a good reason? I like to have a reason. I can barely afford a cloud II.

Cloud II has only been out 2 years. You sure you don't have the cloud?
