For sure upgrade that cpu first. I recommend an i3 7100 if you don't want to spend too much.

Yeah, just noticed the socket for the mobo. Mobo should be first then. That amount of ram at those speeds won't suffice for current games.

no need to be a dick. I also mentioned "amount". not only is it ddr3 and 1600, it's also only 8gb.

For 1080p gaming, i would say upgrade the graphics card to at least an rx 470(480/1060 if you can) and a haswell i5 if possible. No need to upgrade your mobo or ram, lga 1150 is still very viable and 8gb is mostly enough for gaming.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

8gb is pushing it. Won't matter anyways. He'll need to upgrade his mobo for all the new shit coming out. Including ram.

the 950 is still a decent card, but if you want to get the most performance, I would recommend grabbing yourself a 1050/1050ti. As for the CPU, I did once have the G3258 as well, and about a year ago upgraded to the 4960 (top end i5), great CPU but it costs a fair bit. I would recommend getting a new CPU, as two cores don't really cut it anymore, as Luke pointed out in LTTs latest video. (when I bought my 4960, I noticed a massive jump in performance, and a drop in lag while gaming). Rest of the system looks fine, no bottlenecks that jump out at me. 8GB of ram is fine, new cards (low cards in your case) dont suck up much power, so new PSU isn't required.

PC Gamers 15 game average fps (15 games tested at max settings at 1080p):

the upgrade from haswell to kabylake is maybe 5% faster per clock, zen will be even closer.

Yes, lets shell out an extra $90-100 dollars to change a perfectly fine motherboard and ram that still has a good upgrade path all for a 10% IPC improvement. No. Haswell cpus are still very good for gaming and are only very slightly behind skylake in gaming.
