Spray Paint Motherboard?

H0R53

Do not tell me to buy new parts.

I have a generic LGA 775 Dell OEM board. I don't make enough money to buy another one right now, I just bought a new case and that's my spending money for January.

I want to know if it's safe to spray paint my motherboard black and hand paint the RAM slots and PCI slots, and of course remove the SB/NB heatsink, and remove/tape over anything that it might hurt. Honestly I am getting a new motherboard at some point I just don't know exactly when.

Is it safe? NO

Can you do it? YES

Painting just heatsink wouldn't be any problem, but painting whole PCB is hard. There are tons of stuff that you would need to cover somehow.

Linus has made videos about this. I recommend you watch them first before proceeding.

Links please. I want to do this properly. There's a Lowes not too far from where I live and I have a whole roll of painter's tape. I want to paint the whole PCB black and the RAM/expansion slots blue.

I mean I could provide you links, but that means that I'm gonna go to my youtube, find linustechtips and then search for "painting" and then look through the results.

I think you are more than capable of doing this yourself.

When in doubt, re-format.
