A) You'd likely destroy it, along with any other components directly connected to it.

B) Not much really... There's not much power there.

C) Bad idea. Even while off, the PSU still contains enough power to deliver a lethal shock if tampered with,

I remember when my nan was moving house, I was setting back up her television and router, the router gave a magic blue spark and some of the magic smoke, safe to say it didn't work after that. it was working fine before it was moved haha.

Something probably got damaged during the moving. Was it in the post or just taken there by you?

took it round myself, boxed it up too, couldn't figure out why it happened. though it may have been the plug socket on the wall, but that worked fine when anything else was plugged into it. just unlucky i guess.
