USB 3.0 hub extender cord?

i have a use 3.0 hub. but the usb cord for it is too small. if i were to connect a usb extender cord to it will it lose its 3.0 speeds? must i get a usb 3.0 extender cord?

Assuming the USB Extension Cable is a USB 3.0 one, you should see no performance losses over shorter distances (a few meters at most - after that, there could be problems).
