What CPU should I go for, i3, i5, or wait for ryzen

Shally

So I have £200, or around $250?

I have:

RX 480 4GB

4GB ddr4 fury

1TB WD Blue

CX 600w

NZXT S340

H110m 1151

1080p 72hz monitor

So my question is this, I have the money for an i5 7400, but if I go with an i3 7300 I could get an ssd and additional 4GB of ram. I could wait for Ryzen but is it worth it? I'm wondering which will give me the biggest performance boost all round and not just games. I play CS, BF and H1Z1. Thanks in advantance!

Irish in Vancouver, what's new?

There is a slim chance Ryzen will lower prices of CPUs.
There is still no foul in waiting reguardless.

I am hoping, but I am skipticle.. or skeptikle... skippittyy... blah..

I'm not positive. I hope. However Polaris (RX 4x0) was not nearly as competitive in terms of performance with Pascal.

Yeah, I saw a little of LTT's video on their new GPUs. Supposedly it was going to be really good in terms of performance.

I like AMD, (Sporting one of their GPU right now, and would be rocking a CPU by them if I didn't get offered the used deal on stuff I picked up) but they seem to adore the budget market; or they know they cannot make things good enough to compete with Nvidia/intel so they see how they can knock prices down so they don't compete with them as much.

Just speculation. I think the idea of their FX series processors is very cool, even though it did get bottlenecked a bit somewhere in the CPU. (Salazar Studio did an explanation. It may be false...BUT HE HAD CHARTS!!!!)

Keep saving up until Ryzen is released, even fi its a fail and you decide not to go for it, you'll probably have saved enough extra to get a 7700k.

I have no PC and currently doing a Computer Science course, so waiting too long is definitely an issue.

I3 2320 Toshiba laptop, it gets me by but he battery no longer works and must be plugged constantly. No GPU so Intel graphics which means no gaming, as a 17 year old in his first year of university if I can't go out drinking I feel gaming always helps!
