Need help picking a decent graphics card for my money.

Miroslav

Hello, I have general knowledge regarding building computer systems, but as many can agree the spec of a Graphics card and the performance are not always the same.

Some back ground:  I have a pre bought AMD set up at the moment however I would like to build one. [currently waiting for the new Ryzen AMD CPU to be released to see the price and determine if i can afford it] I am looking for a 4GB decent Graphics card. Noise won't be an issue, I am looking for performance.  The Graphics Card I am looking to mount on my current system until/if I build a new one.

GAMES: To pick a  relevant Graphics Card also depends on the type of games I am looking forward to playing. [Highest ultra graphics would be nice to have the option, but are not required I am quite happy playing on mid range graphics.]

Diablo 3;  Starcraft 2; Battlefield 1; Battlefield 4; League of Legends; Dota 2;  Total War; World Of Warcraft; Titanfal 2 Those are games I like playing also a new, f2p not yet released game called Starfall Tactics [done few pre alpha tests]

Question: I am not sure and I would consider that it doesn't but... Does it matter what Graphics card I get based on my CPU? Are all graphics cards compatible with all CPUs.

Help Suggest:

What Graphics Card would you suggest me to get that would give a decent performance on default settings without manual tweaking and it would last [is less likely to have issues and break down]?

If you're waiting for Ryzen, why not just wait for VEGA as well?

"May your frame rates be high and your temperatures low"

I misread titles/posts way too often--correct me if I don't.

I'm confused why you have a 470 on there but not a 480

As I said I have general Knowledge but I am not sure what to get.  460 470 480  not sure what the difference is between them either :D it is why I posted this topic so someone who has more experience and knows considerably more than me would post an opinion and suggestion. :)

For gaming the highest possible and latest GPU would be nice, but not a must have. Also I would like as I said to upgrade my current medium rig with a better card which I can latter use on a new system when/if I build one.
