no steam overlay in BF1

Jamtoad

So I added bf1 to steam so i can get the steam overlay for fps counter, easy steam chat and take screenshots and put them on steam.

problem is when i launch it from steam it launched origin like it should, but it thinks orgain is the game, the fps counter shows up in origin not BF1

here is the shortcut settings

it says start in origin is that why? is there a way to fix this so i can have the overlay work in game?

You need Origin to start the game. The game doesn't start on its own. It starts through Origin. Just like any other Steam game.

To be fair, Valve does not guarantee that you will have access to the Steam Overlay in non-Steam games.

I guess, I've just never had an issue with it before, I get the overlay in origin though which is weird lol

perfoverlay.drawfps 1

type this in console inside BF1 which you can open by pressing "~".

you know if there is a way to make it be on the left side of the screen?
