Which console exclusive would you want to have a PC Porting the most?

I personally wish Rockstar would port Red Dead Redemption, is the "piracy" justification an actual justification for not porting games to PC in your opinion?

Honestly, if the developer just doesn't want to port the game over, they shouldn't have to explain themselves why.

As for the anti-piracy thing, probably not if they used Steam. But Steam was still fairly new in the digital distribution gig so I would wager they would've used something like SecuROM or at worst, StarForce.

The console market gives a huge profit to big game studios. However PC is a bit more competitive and needs more investment (as the port has to be made). So they don't really bother.

Piracy is not a justification and this has been proven over and over again.

Can they make profit on PC as well? Sure. Do they consider it a hassle? Sometimes. Do they make exclusivity deals with companies like Sony and Microsoft? Many times they do.

True enough, the developers have the right to make it available at the platforms they want to aim without having to justify themselves, even though that sometimes does upset consumers such as myself who'd love to play RDR2 on my PC since I do not intend to buy a last gen console especially only to play like 2 games (RDR2 and Last of Us 2) and never touch it again.

I doubt that any game wouldn't still make profit if ported to the PC, when talking about AA and AAA, well... less profit than the consoles perhaps though, I also don't think piracy is good enough of an excuse though; given how Steam mainly has been making piracy less and less attractive, one thing I don't get though is why Microsoft doesn't show equal interest in both xbox and windows when comes to gaming, I understand Sony wanting to solely promote PlayStation though.

I have been waiting as well on this possible Final Fantasy 15 PC Porting... it just makes me upset how we might feel excluded sometimes.

But you shouldn't feel upset if you're excluded. You shouldn't be feeling you need to be included in everything.

The biggest problem with PC gaming development is the myriad of configurations and issues you have to deal with. At best all a developer gets is a handful of configurations that are pristine and well known. They can probably refresh the system drive if they think something's gone wrong to a known working state. Then when they release said game, it could've been working beautifully on their machines, but your machine, because it uses a different hardware vendor or your software configuration of Windows is not the norm, won't run the game. And then you're likely going to blame the developer for doing a crappy job of porting the game. Compounding it is if you're a paranoid type who refuses to say anything and so you won't divulge anything useful about your computer. You just expect software to work magically.

(also I say "you" towards no one in particular)

Red5Studios sold 20 million copies of the Witcher 3 game in less than a year (then they sold 6M of Wild Hunt in 6 weeks). They didn't add DRM to the game, you could literally copy and paste the W3 folder and put it on another system (just like with any GoG game). They still made a ton of money without even having to worry about piracy.

Games that are on all platforms usually sell about 80% of their copies on consoles, and the rest on PC, according to numbers given and compared on the latest AAA games released, like GTA V.
Forbes has a pretty interesting article that explains how PC gaming has a larger revenue than consoles http://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2014/04/28/as-global-pc-game-revenue-surpasses-consoles-how-long-should-console-makers-keep-fighting/#49a830c06f69
However I have to agree with M. Yurizaki, it's just plain easier to develop for consoles, specially for the developer. Also the numbers and analysis that have to be considered financially seem to be much less troublesome and less risky on consoles, Microsoft and Sony do know how to make impressive contracts with game studios.

I do miss Nintendo exclusives from time to time, but in that case I at least feel like I can buy the console and get a satisfactory experience. But I desperately want to play Bloodborne, and there is zero chance of that happening at 30 FPS (or less). The only version of that game that exists is one that I consider entirely unplayable.

The last of us.

Zero Dawn

Piracy Argument is BS.

Exclusive exists to "force" People on a certain plattform. Sadly enough fools match that tactic.
