Which cpu should I go with?

I don't do editing, and I surf the web, use office programs, and play games with my computer. I am going to pair my cpu with a gtx 1050, and I want to play gta 5 on medium-high mixed and Overwatch on high settings 60fps 1080p. Which cpu should I buy?

Desktop: i7-6700K / Asus Z170 S / H100i V2 / LPX 2400Mhz 16GB / 960 EVO 250GB / 2x 860 EVO 500GB / RM750i  / NZXT H440 / XB271H + Z22n Monitors

Laptop: Thinkpad T450s / i7-5600U / 12GB / 860 EVO 500GB

I'd look for the Intel Core i5 6400,6500 or 6600.

or $150 USD for a i3-6300

Get the i5 6400 and if you can get a GTX 1050Ti 4GB instead.

6400 + 1050 if you do vid editing (which you dont) and 6100 + 1060 for gaming

i5 + 1050ti will be more balanced build.

I3 6100 and RX470

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Why should I get a i5 6400 instead of i3 6100? I think gpu performance is more important than the cpu performance?

The i3 will struggle to play games that require CPU horsepower therefore you get a bottleneck.
