Do i need special cable crimpers, connectors, and boots for a flat ethernet cable?

Xtreme Gamer

I am wondering if I need a special crimper, connector and boot for crimping and flat ethernet cable. I have a 100ft ethernet cable and wanted to crimp it into shorter lengths. Thanks for the help!!

What grade of cable?

You will need a crimper, plus ends etc. Even bestbuy sells them now, or amazon.

Just make sure the cable is up to snuff for your connection speed

IE 10Gbit needs Cat6E (for very short runs) and Cat6A for longer runs.

It's mainly cat6. I just didn't know if the crimper, ends, and cable boots needed to be special for the flat cables.

The only thing special you would need is boots (if you use them) because the ends themselves only touch the individual wires - and if you are using normal ends, then of course a normal crimper would be used too.

Looking to buy GTX690, other multi-GPU cards, or single-slot graphics cards:
