Im looking into buying a new hard drive. I have gone through 4 hard drives this year and they all keep failing. i have a lan rig so my pc gets moved a lot and my desk i have is wiggly. So if anyone can reccomend me a hard drive that isnt poop than let me know. And yes i know buy an ssd. I have one but i need a mass storage hard drive

I would buy a WD Red as you said your desk is "wiggly". The vibration resistance and 24/7 performance may benefit you.

Either that or a Seagate Ironwolf drive, both made for NAS usage. Afaik the Ironwolf drives are at 7200RPM, whereas the WD Reds are at 5900RPM or something around that... feel free to correct me on that xD

A WD Red drive would be "good enough" I guess...
But if you really want something that last forever even if you were to launch it across the street, you'd need a SSD.

Mass Storage as in my steam Library. I have 800+ gigs of steam games i want to throw on it. And i know the Red drives are 5400rpm so i dont really want to go with that option

Rotation speed has very little effect on drive performance. The Red will do much better thanks to platter density, controller throughput, cache, and scheduling performance.
