Upgrading CPU what should i get?

Hello , i am currently using a AMD FX 8350 Vishera Black Edition and i'm looking to change to an Intel processor which one should i buy , i am looking to use it for mainly gaming (Arma 3 etc) but occasional graphical usage.

My current motherboard is a GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 would this be compatible with the i5/7 range or should i upgrade that also ? If so any recommendations.

However is it worth me waiting for AMD to release more information on their new CPU or is it expected to be another flop like their GPU...

Thanks !

If you are mainly gaming then go for the i5 6600K and you would need a new motherboard (any Z170).

Most people say that all you need for gaming is an i5-6600k, and you should get an i7-6700k if you ever plan to do editing or anything more multi core intensive. I personally say if you want the extra power and can afford it, get the i7. But mostly cause bragging rights.

EDIT:

My bad I did not read the post closely enough, that motherboard will not be compatible with ANY intel CPU, you will have to buy a 1151 socket mother board, with the z170 chip if you plan to take advantage of the overclockable CPU's you are looking at.
