Get a Z170 motherboard instead of the H170.

Depends what you're doing.
If you're doing CPU intensive stuff (programming or such) you're fine.

if this is a gaming PC then swap out the i5 for an i5 6400 and upgrade GPU to GTX 1060/RX480 with the remaining costs.
Don't need a 6600k paired with an entry level gaming GPU

I will be using the pc for gaming and all the other regular stuff ( not a programmer)

So the difference of the price between the z170 and the  H170 is not that substantial (138 usd to 110 usd)

The price of the 6600k and the 6400 is respectively ( 305 usd and 216 usd)

The price in the cards however are substantial. The 1050 TI goes for 235 usd and the 1060 Asus Strix 6GB goes for 431 usd,

There is a more affordable 1060 model - the Palit 1060 3G Storm X for 267 usd. Is this better and how ?

Also the Asus dual rx 480 4G is 303 usd

3gb runs slower than a 6gb 1060

Go 4gb rx 480, much better preformance/money for you

I don't understand how you are spending 1000 and you only have a 1050ti and 8gb of ram
