When do you eat dinner/supper?

I'm cooking dinner for my family tonight, and my father wanted me to start cooking at 5:30. I said that we normally eat dinner at 6:30, and eating at 6:00 was a bit early. He said normal people eat dinner at 6:00. I thought that "normal" people ate dinner on their own at 9:00 or whenever they were feeling hungry. So that got me thinking: when do people actually eat dinner?

Silly thing to ask, but I'm a curious person. Also my first off-topic poll. Since Turnip isn't an answer I made a separate poll for it.

I'm home for Christmas and my fam eat at about 8 but when I'm in my flat I eat when I'm hungry, usually at about 9:30/10.

Whenever I am hungry, it dont matter to me. But usually around 5 or 6pm.
