Why does Dell do this?

Just ship the damn thing already! In the words of Jeremy Clarkson... how hard can it be? It's already been a week since I've put in the order and it's supposed to be delivered within the next two days.

This was part of the deal where Dell was selling Dishonored 2 for $20 (boxed version), which is stupid, but it comes with a code and I figured I'd get it before my Christmas break. This is not looking promising... buyer's remorse is setting in real deep

/end rant

It may not only be up to Dell and it probably isn't. The deal was great, and there are a million things that might've happened. The likely scenario is that due to high number of orders things are a bit slow, and they are working on orders in the order they received them. They might be waiting for games from Bethesda, or if they are sending it via delivery services it may be up to them (they are known to be a bit late on delivery status), who knows. Also don't forget that it's Christmas time and almost everything is late in this period due to high volume of orders. Now I don't know how much time they need to deliver it, but it's possible for items to be shipped and delivered in the same day. When you ordered, you agreed to receive the game in the estimated date, so I'm not sure why are complaining since there are 2 more days left.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

This isn't my first rodeo

They still let me cancel the order and my credit card still shows a hold on the charge (which means it hasn't shipped yet)

Yes the delivery time is also a reason I'm certain I won't be receiving the game in the window Dell provided

Well to be honest I'd wait until the end, and then I'd open a ticket or contact them somehow. Imo the deal is to good to cancel. Worst case scenario, you might not have something to play over Christmas. :P

Why don't you simply... contact Dell and find out what the hold up is?

As @Bouzoo said, there are a million and one reasons why it might not have shipped yet.

I don't know why Dell does this. But I can tell you who does know: Dell. So ask them.
