Can I change the label of my boot drive...

mckrackin5324

...without breaking the path?

I tried it on one of my games drives and the games load alright BUT...

When I tried to change the label of the boot drive,it said it would have to reboot in Pre-OS Mode to complete the task.

I don't know what that means and I'm afraid the new label might break the path.

Can you guys help?

I'm using Windows 10 and I renamed my boot drive and I have not had any issues loading up Windows since I changed the name.

How did you change yours?

I always boots Partition Assistant for this stuff and it's the one that said that "Pre-OS" line.

Just right click it on the file explorer and you can change the label without breaking anything. Paths start at C:\ regardless of the volume label.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here
