Good day everyone,

I just recently came to this site and i'm looking for some opinions and advice on my current build.

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/sbsNYr

I built this 5 years ago (minus the GTX 760, i originally had a GTX 570) for about $3000 CAD with all the peripherals.

I was wondering if this is bottle necked at all, I say that because I am considering getting a new 4Gb GPU considering they are only about 200 CAD.  Nothing in this build is currently overclocked as i don't really know much about that sort of thing (yet).

The hardest push I put on my computer is gaming (such as Skyrim, GTA5 and KSP which I heavily mod)

Also, I would like to sneak in here that I am also looking at building a cheap computer for my son, It would basically be a cheapo rig to play minecraft on in addition to possibly being a home server.... If that's really possible.

Thanks in advance.

Get a new GPU, overclock the CPU, job done :D

Maybe you can upgrade the CPU cooler, i don't know how far that 212 plus will get you... It will get you somewhere for sure, but maybe not as far as you want to.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

The 2600k still packs some heat! I'd take one of these , maybe one of these (i actually prefer this one, but hey) and overclock it, then upgrade the GPU.

I would get a nice noctua tbh :P

But tbh it will probably depend what the budget is.

Yup! Could be an option, the NH-D14 costs US$66 and i believe it is a better cooler than both, and he could carry it onto a future build.

Yea, when i bought the cpu i had seen reviews saying it was a power hog/heat s*&t, so I picked up the 212 as to not use the stock cooler.

Grab the cryorig h5 universal so you can oc the processor, and get a rx 480 4gb (get either the msi gaming x or the sapphire nitro+)

As for a cheap rig for your son, something like this will do

Thanks for the advice guys, from the comments i suppose the biggest takeaway would be overclocking my cpu and managing the heat associated.  Thanks for the build @TheDankKoosh.  I think for the build for my son i could easily reuse my gtx 760 and my current cpu cooler.
