Hey, idk exactly where I should post this but does anyone know of a good drawing tablet with a high-resolution screen? I would get the new Microsoft Surface Studio but I don't have 3,000 big one's to spare. I plan to do animation and regular drawing. Don't know what else there is to say... any suggestions?

So I'm aspiring to be a professional animator/artist thing and I want to know what would be the best drawing tablet from Wacom would be for me. I'm a Junior in high school and I think it would be best if I got a mid to high-end Cintiq from Wacom, because I would prefer to have a pen on screen device that's also high resolution... however at a second glance these seem to be out of my price range of less than 600 US dollars.

Heck! These seem too expensive. Can anyone point me to a drawing screen that's under 1000 dollars? The Cintiq 13 seems too small.

I don't know, I feel a bit frustrated... please help

As a novice I strongly suggest you go the intuos route instead of the Cintiq route. The reason Cintiq are so expensive is because they're high end art monitors. Because they're art monitors they're calibrated very precisely, have very wide contrast and color gamut. Plus they have a $200-400 pen digitizer in them on top of that. That's great for art and would be useful, but if you're just getting into it it likely won't pay itself back anytime soon.

Intuos tablets are smaller and only have the digitizer in them so it's much much cheaper. The lack of a screen in them is something that you should be able to get used to fairly quickly, if the experience of people I know is worth it.

Once you're going pro you *might* see the benefits of a Cintiq, depending on what field you get into, but initially they're not typically worth the cost.

Yep, there is not many on screen choices under a grand.

The Cintiqs are super nice (have one myself), but not necessary to do digital art or animation.  Also, you need a good chunk of room for one.  The Intuos line are great drawing tablets for getting into digital art.

The Cintiq is aimed at professionals or novices with money to throw. If you need to see where you're drawing, I'd suggest you check out Rebel Pixel's youtube channel and his reviews on Cintiq alternatives. https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCwiub_UKuf3I-ZrWR4UzpCA

If you need to stick to wacom, get an intuos or bamboo. An intuos would be better but I don't find the difference that big.

If you're up for buying used, a 21UX should be within your price range from Craigslist or eBay.
