Video editing pc

Hi everyone , 

 

need advice on my build if its good enough for 4k video editing.  Heres my list of parts

- i7-6800k

- asus x99-a II mobo

- Corsair vengence led 32 gb  ddr4 3000mhz

- evga supernova 1000w ps

-asus geforce gtx1060 dual oc 6gb

- samsung 950 pro m.2 

- samsung 950 pro ssd 25

- seagate barracuda 2tb sata drive

- corsair h115i liquid cooler

-Nzxt phantom 410 case

 

any ideas would be great also .

Should work well. 4k video takes less to edit than many say, as my 5 year old laptop edits it just fine.

This is fine for 4k video editing

People say it takes longer compared to FCPX

You can easily drop to a 750 or 850W PSU, 1000 watts for that config is ridonkulus

a) GTX 1060 can't SLI

b) 750W is fine for SLI 1070s so maybe 850W just to be safe but 1000 is needed for 2-3 Titan X's not a single 1060

Depends on the kind of 4K footage and the type of editing being done.  The OP's configuration should be ok, but I recommend getting a GPU with at least 8GB VRAM.

 

@OP

Also, do you want to do any sort of HDR video editing?  In which case the configuration will not be enough.

i will actually be doing 1080p and possibly 4k. just thinking of future if i get into 4k

bruh that changes everything 6800K is wayyy overkill for 1080p editing

Premiere is slower in many cases. My macbook air would probably render out h264 faster than that pc would. Its ridiculously fast at exporting.

i want the best just incase i want to expand my opportunities . right now its just a starter as a hobby. but would like to so it more often and possibly as a part time job . since my job is 3.5 days of work.
