Is it possible to put a gpu in a dell r710

last year i grabed a dell and i wanted to put a gpu in it but i has a 8x pci slot on its rizer and not enough room for a 8x to 16x converter what should i do?

The r710 was never designed for gpu's, it has a lower power slot.

 

If you want gpu's get something like a precision r5500 or r720.

 

But if you want it to work, you can cut the back of the slot of with a dremel and then get power by soldering leads onot the psu connector.

it would on a r720

if it dosen't have a x16 slot it was not made for it, check if there is something on the riser that looks like a PCIe (8 wire) power socket
