Setting up a super ghetto security system

TubsAlwaysWins

Alright so I got a dog and I would look at a way to watch him when im not in the room/house (99% sure he has separation Anxiety). I have a laptop and a webcam that I can use. Are there any programs that would let me bring up that camera on my phone and laptop? I would prefer not to use remote desktop stuff but I can

Really? Afraid to open a port on the router?

Jeesus. This is a tech site.

OP: There are plenty of security programs for windows that let you access it the cameras over the internet.

Here's an app for iphone to monitor webcam feeds.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/icam-webcam-video-streaming/id296273730?mt=8

And here is an application to broadcast your webcam.

There are also all in one solutions like the app below (not free.)

you could just set up twitch to stream it to a twitch account. easiest solution there is.

I agree, this seems like the route i'd take.
It has the added benefit of possibly even building up a fan base of weirdos who like to watch your dog kick it.
maybe even make some ad revenue! :D

A wireless network camera is a good option for your needs or a network one. The pan and tile gives you greater control and wider range of view.

How would you even know what that looks like in an animal when you can view it on a ghetto camera setup?

If the camera supports RTMP you can use NGINX (even on windows) to utilise the input stream to a simple HTTP/HTTPS page.

Find out if the camera is RTMP capable, if so I will provide more info.
