For $15 or less, you're not going to get an even half decent camera, you'd be best off saving up more money and getting something like a gopro.

That's about the best you'd be looking at getting, and even then, you have to buy a microsd card for it too.

There is always the "buy and then return" approach....albeit it's not exactly the most ethical thing to do (and you should also be willing to not be able to return it if you break it).

With 12 megapixels he's probably better off taping his phone to the helmet.

Based on the reviews, it sounds more like it's equivalent to a 2MP or less camera from around 2000.

The megapixel count isn't the only determining factor in how good the image is, I've seen cameras with around 15MP sensors destroy cameras with much higher resolution sensors.

Don't worry, I know, I was just trying to take the piss :)

Dude be realistic. Buy a roll of gaffers tape for those 15$ then and tape it to your chest or helmet.

Its not like you will get something sliglty worse than a GoPro for 15, that is like 1/20 of the price. At least. Maybe you could rent one for 2-3 days or so but that is probably it. An decent low capacity SD card costs 15$

If you're okay with sub-potato quality, because that's probably sub-potato quality.

If you're wanting even half decent video, that will not be able to provide it.

$15 will get you a microsd card, and that's about it. (And no, that camera you linked does not come with a microsd card)

It even says it's a security camera for home use. That says a lot about quality lmao.

So I'm going skiing soon and I thought it would be fun to record myself going down the slopes. I am looking for a small camera that I can put on my helmet while I ski. Anyone know anything that would work? My budget is $15 or less

See if anyone is selling a used or old GoPro 2 or something.  $15 isn't enough to buy a new action camera.  Even a used Contour action camera costs at least $50.

A good photographer knows where to focus the lens, a bad photographer focuses on the wrong things.  A good photographer goes out to the world and tries to create something new, a lazy wannabe photographer goes to a museum to take photos of things people have photographed before. - Good Photography

Well you will get a sick res of 480p on a sensor smaller than the ones in phones. It may have been cool, in the 2005.

No but really its just a waste of 15US to buy something like that. Either find a used GoPro for 50-100 something or just save untill you can get something worth getting.
