HDDs are filled with sectors, they will go bad over time, and get replaced by the extra ones. Normally this runs in the background and doesn't cause problems.

 

Uncorrectable errors and pending sectors will cause problems. THis normally means it will fails soon.

Can you provide a link as well so I can d/l and find out if mine are healthy.

Your best bet is to download the software your brand of HDD recommends. Most brands have their own software.

 

Failing that, crystaldiskinfo works fine.

Then just call upon the WD rep here on the forums to parse the data for you. Why can't I remember his name...
