nope nividea's happy with their 10 series. AMD's blown their load over ryzen.

There isn't a reason for nividea to release anything for the next 9 months and I can't sea radeon releasing anything for the next year, especially with the new intel agreement.

Vega

Okay, the Ti is going to happen but it isn't a new graphics card.

And whatever AMD hope vega isn't going to happen next year, they don't have the HBM2. They have a prefered customer status on HBM as they funded the development. They have no such status on HBM2.

AMD are launching RyZen and Vega Q1 2017 probably but you wont be missing out on anyting because Vega are only high end enthusiast GPUs and RyZen unrelated to GPU

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

So basically nividea is going to flog off failed xp's..... they do this every time, it's nice, but it isn't a new graphics card.

you said that the 1080 TI wasent going to be a new graphics card, which it will be, it just shares the GPU core with the Titan XP and has a cut down version of that

a graphics card is a PCB with the core, VRAM, VRMs ect... not just the GPU core. a graphics card is the product the customer gets in there hands and thats not just a graphics processor

The Ti has always been a perfection of the 80 series card, usually using the 80 hardware with failed titan GPU's. My point is I can't see any new hardware coming out in the next 9 months. maybe even the next 12 months. nividea, and AMD should be doing press releases about september if they run true to form. Nividea will probably get a jump because they're funding the next viable generation of HBM.

sure but my orignal point was that you were saying that a new graphics card wasent a new graphics card while it infact is a new graphics card. there wont be anything NEW about the hardware but the product will be new

Well, nevermind what others are saying.

Whats the reason for wanting a new graphics card?

Specs of your PC if you already have one?

Where do you live, whats your budget and what performance you want to achieve?

Thanks for bringing us back on topic mate.

Honestly the 480 is a good card. I can't see any product announcement coming soon that will drive it's price down.

Nividea has their Ti in the works, but I can't see any reason for them to release in in the next 1-2 months.

If your budget is RX480, it is unlikely that there will be anything announced in the next little while that will be competitive at that level.

Rumor has it that 1080TI and Vega based high end cards are coming soon

Vega is on the roadmap, but it's based on HBM2, and AMD has no viable supply for it atm.

Samsung and Hynix are both manufacturing HMB2 now and have been publicly manufacturing it since last August. As far as I am aware, the only device using it to date is the p100 tesla that I cant imagine is all that high volume

What's nividea doing with it? They funded it, I can't imagine they'd hand it out to amd, especially with them screwing them over with intel contract negotiations.

I cant find any evidence of an nvidia monopoly on HBM2. Can you point me in the right direction?
