well im looking for a pc case that stands out but is not to expensive

Not sure what you mean by "stands out"... but the case in my descrption looks pretty unique-ish imo, and is pretty cheap (50-60 USD or something like that) so you can drop a bunch of LED fans in the fromt/top to make it glow n shit.

well.. the term "stand out" means that it is different than what it is surrounded with.

in a sense, a picture of my define R5 would "stand out" among the other recommendations most likely made in this thread.

that language lesson aside, in my opinion if you want to truly catch an eye, you need something ridiculous, like what i did to my media center:

in darkness it does this party trick:

that's the cheapest case i could find at my local retailer, with several meters of RGB LED strip in it from china.

and if you are the kind of person that wants to make people facepalm, this is always an option as well:

that's more LED than computer in terms of power draw :D

Why you must put so much blue LED on it... why?

for that very reason.

if you want something that catches an eye, you have two options:

- you buy an eyecatching case off the shelf, and people see it, say "oh he got an ugly case" and move on

- you buy a cheap piece of junk, add a not-quite-sensible amount of LEDs, a glow in the dark case badge, and some misfit decorations inside, and people stop and look to process "what the hell did i just see"

Seconded on InWin 303. Also a fan of the InWin 707.

Practical but not necessarily unique would be the Phanteks Evolv Enthoo ATX glass.

i was considering the inwin 303 for my server at some point (dont ask), and i decided that the acer prebuilt case its in now is more practical than the inwin 303... it's a beautiful case, but GOD is it impractical.
