Asus X99 STRIX and Corsair H1000i

So obviously I know where to connect the 24-pin connector. (Bottom right) 

But there's also a 8-pin and 4-pin ATX Power connector at the top of this mobo. 

The manual says to connect the 8-pin connector or the 8-pin AND the 4-pin connector. 

 

Now I got 2 cables with the PSU that are both 8-pins but can also function as a 4-pin.

Do I have to connect them both or do I only have to connect the 8-pin?

And where do I have to connect them to on the PSU?

Not an expert but judging by 4 + 4 I would probably say both.
