New build! Opinion please!! (first time)

Afabril

So, I want to build my PC for the very first time and I'm nervous about messing it up. I have a limited selection of components because in my country there are no many options and bringing them from USA is neither an option. Here is the set:

  • Case: Corsair Spec Alpha.
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-6700 3,4 GHz (non-k version)
  • Cooling system: Cooler master Hyper 212X
  • RAM: HyperX 2-8Gb (16Gb) 2133 MHz
  • GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte z170X gaming 6
  • PSU: EVGA supernova 650W G2 80+Gold
  • HDD: Toshiba 1TB
  • SSD: HyperX 240Gb

Please let me know your comments and tell me if there is something not compatible in the build. I also would like to know advices for any new component that I should be buying instead of the ones I mentioned. I appreaciate a lot your help and any suggestion. Thank you!

Looks good, but why are you getting a non k cpu with a z170 board? Or a z170 board with a non k cpu?

If you are getting a 212X and a Z170 board, there is no reason to not save a tiny bit more and get a 6700K. If you really can't save, get a 550W G2 instead to save a bit, and a Hyper 212 Evo instead of X. Get a 6700K, otherwise get a H110/H170 mobo and no cooler.

I've never done OC and I'm really afraid about damaging the PC, that's why i thought the K version wouldn't be necessary. I could get the K version but I don't know if it's worth since probably I won't do OC. Should I get it anyways?

yes, even if you don't OC it has higher core clocks, and in 1-2 years when you are more confident with your PC you can try OCing

You don't OC but you can still benefit from extra speed from the 6700k (even no OC)

Also it's a nice feature and OC won't be that hard

But if you insist on it then don't get a Z170 board

That board is a WAY to expensive. Go cheaper imo. I don't grade PSUs, so I don't know about it.. looks solid to me. Get a Mx300, OCZ Trion 150, PNY Cs1311, or if you can afford it the Samsung 850 Evo over the HyperX SSD.

Get a WD blue instead? They are more reliable. Or can you get a Samsung EVO SSD?

Is that bad the HyperX brand? The thing is that the place where I'm buying this stuff only has HyperX and toshiba brands for SSD :(

Its not bad by no means, but they're better options. No OCZ Trion 150? That is toshiba.
