Motherboard HMDI Issues, ASUS Z170-A

Hey everyone.

So I just built my first ever PC. Pretty happy with it overall, however there is one little hiccup. For whatever reason, my HDMI port on my motherboard is not functioning. Or at least I don't think it is. I plug it in and nothing comes up on my screen. When I plug it into my graphics card HDMI, works great. Does anyone know if it's just a simple fix? Or do I need to RMA my board?

Thanks for any help in advance!

Change in BIOS from pcie gpu to integrated gpu or on board gpu and that should fix. The problem is you are trying to use integrated gpu of your cpu if you plug to the motherboard

Some mainboards do not allow you to use onboard video when a graphics card is installed.  If it allows you to, the BIOS will have a setting that allows you to choose both, while still requesting you select the Primary source for display.  Check the specifications and with the manufacturer to see if this option is available for your mainboard.
