New, you'd be looking at something like a GT 610, 710, maybe a 730 if you're lucky. R7 240 maybe, nothing really worth the price of admission if you're planning to do anything more than watch TV on it.

 

Used, you could get something like a Radeon HD 7570 or a Quadro FX 3800 (~GTX 260 level), both of which would almost have to be better than anything mentioned above. Mid-tier cards from a few years back can sometimes be found in that price range on Craigslist, even eBay.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Just see if you can find a used 750/750 ti or maybe and amd r7 (r9?) 260 or 260X

with how tempting the rx470 and the like are at that pricepoint? I can really see how someone with a 750ti would be looking to offload quickly, between black Friday and xmas. the chances aren't great, for sure. but its possible. if I get 50 bucks for my old gtx 670 in a month or so, I'd be ecstatic. and I would imagine a 750ti running right around the same league on a bit less power.
