I am selling a dell xps with one of those 5770's in it to try and upgrade right now, I am looking an an msi 990x mobo, and a FX6300, I already have a dual 4gb memory kit with amd branding, yes I am an amd/ati fan and I admit that. I also admit that intel and nvidias high end stuff beats amd's though.

Intel's more expensive CPUs may well beat AMD's high-end CPUs, but Nvidia's 680 falls short to the 7970 Ghz.

I agree about the 680 falling short of the 7970ghz, but the fact is they have the uber premium titan, and all of the people that mindlessly but nvidia, so amd will in all likelihood always have the minor market share.

but with amd tech in ALL of the consoles this time around, maybe games will start being tuned to run better on amd cpu and gpu's

AMD actually had a larger market share than Nvidia in 2008 and 2009, due to the massively popular HD 4000 series.

I did not know that, probably because I think I was still running that 1.6ghz p4, with 256mb of rambus ram and the geforce 3 500ti, the mobo and cpu came out of an alienware.

I was running ubuntu on it.

I did not REALLY get into gaming computers until about early/mid way through the HD5000 series lifespan, then I got my 5770's for $100 6 months after the 6000 series dropped.
