Update: 2016-12-7

After installing Windows Server 2016..... GTA V and Watch DOG runs with no difference from win10

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last night, my win10 crashed totally. Then i had to reinstall the OS which i did once a year. That's windows. o.O

So...The idea came up that may i use a window server to gain both stability and gaming performance.

I am new here. Difference voices would by great.

Same as regular windows however graphic drivers may not install properly or games just won't run at all (they don't expect windows server and aren't coded for that)

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

It is said that the graphic driver works fine on windows 8.1 shoule be fine on windows server 2012 r2. Games can't run would be a problem. I haven't done any tests yet.

Well if you don't know why it "crashed totally" then you don't know if it was windows or not.

Usually people who upgraded to windows 10 have that kind of issues which a clean install fixes.

Also OS maintenance keeps problems from happening, problems that will also happen on server versions.

If you want a highly stable OS then go to linux.

Windows server is not for consumers.

Nope。Just replace the windows 10...for gaming... because windows 10 crashed. I know it's pretty weird.

Hmm I think that should work, graphic drivers will install, don't worry.

Games will also install

It will run Direct X

So... hmm. I think that should work.

With the obvious downside of not having an OS any game manufacturer expects and the cost of the OS itself.

Try it, let us know :-)
