I don't think there's a difference. It could be two different product description brought about by PCPP's new creation system.

There's only one version on the NZXT website, so I'm assuming they're marketing errors.

h440 is the v1 version. some complaints of exhaust restrictions were lodged and they reengineered the roof and intake ports for a 'less' restriction thus the h442 (v2) was made.

The one with the model number CA-H440W-RA is the 2014 discontinued model, the one with the model number CA-H442W-RA is the 2015 currently in production model and has Steel in the title for some reason, but every H440 currently in production is made with steel according to NZXT's site.
