I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Uh. No.

I don't know tech too much.

Do you know how to play with Legos?

Also, what personal reasons does your friend have to not want to build a computer?

Sigh*

He wants to, but he can't. Parents won't allow it, so he's going to secretly buy the computer.

He said that his parent can't do anything about it because-

That's all I heard.

Uh, building computers needs more sophistication than Legos, if that's what you're implying.

What are you saying?

It actually isn't all that different. You put stuff where it fits and for the most part, that's all there is to it.

Then why does it take so much time for others?

One person said it took them almost 4 months to build, no sarcasm intended.

He was trying to imply that building a PC is easier than building a lego thing :P

Just get anything that has a i5 6500 (preferably) but if not then a 6402p (seems like there's a lot with that so...that's just the better version of the 6400 for gaming) paired with a 1060 and you're friend is good to go :)

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

Took me an hour, then a little extra for cable management and Windows install. That person might've been adding in time he took planning out what parts to buy, or maybe he was doing something really sophisticated like custom water cooling, or case modding. But seriously, it's really not hard at all. You need a philips head screwdriver and maybe some zipties. That's basically it. Linus has a bunch of videos on how to do it, just look at one of his build guides.

its less complicated to build a PC then most lego sets

I'm planning to build one myself, but it seems hard for me.

Mostly because me lacking self-confidence, but also because I'm afraid of messing something up, causing the computer to break, and all that money and effort wasted.

It's pretty hard to break something. And it's virtually impossible to break everything.
