Chipset help

So I'm getting a 6600k for $189 on jet.com, I want an i5 so games can utilize all 4 cores instead of 2 for an i3.  I don't have the budget in my gaming build for a z170 mobo while getting a 1060 6gb.  Would you guys recommend buying a lesser chipset for a little while until I can get a z170, or does overclocking not really matter in games.  Thanks in advance

depends how much of an overclock you want to get on your cpu, but if you want to get a higher one you'll also need to upgrade the cooler from stock, so thats another cost you'll have to be away of.

PC - CPU Ryzen 5 1600 - GPU Power Color Radeon 5700XT- Motherboard Gigabyte GA-AB350 Gaming - RAM 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB - Storage 525GB Crucial MX300 SSD + 120GB Kingston SSD   PSU Corsair CX750M - Cooling Stock - Case White NZXT S340

Peripherals - Mouse Logitech G502 Wireless - Keyboard Logitech G915 TKL  Headset Razer Kraken Pro V2's - Displays 2x Acer 24" GF246(1080p, 75hz, Freesync) Steering Wheel & Pedals Logitech G29 & Shifter

If overclocking does not matter which in most case it is then get a non K cpu and cheaper chipset

If you're asking for a personal opinion...  I'd suggest that you buy a Z170 board (like the ASUS Z170-A) then save up for a video card.  Video card prices are going to do nothing but go down.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

games are more gpu dependent than cpu. if you end up overclocking the improvement for games will be marginal id get a cheaper motherboard, a non k cpu and a better video card
