Cheapest Haswell CPU?

Hello all,

I have a spare Z87 Motherboard, Spare 8GB of DDR3 RAM, and a Spare GTX 770

Where can I get a LGA 1150 CPU for cheap to complete a full PC? (I will need to also buy a PSU, but whatever)

The problem is that Haswell is too new to be offered secondhand, but isn't on sale anywhere!

EDIT:

I would prefer an i5, but an i3 would be good enough right?

Well obviously some people will sell new hardware after only a month or two of use, but at a very close price to what they bought it at. so secondhand really isn't an advantage even if I can find someone selling a Haswell CPU

I'm scared of a Pentium for gaming though. will it be enough for something like an RX 470 or will it bottleneck.

I don't have much experience with peasant hardware /s

It's still reasonably new so the price isn't really gonna be that much lower than it sold for not to mention there isn't going to be much left because likely all of them have been sold and the ones available will either be in someone's PC still or going to cost you. You're probably better off just building new.

Well it seems a waste to build new, seeing as I already have a motherboard, and RAM. that's like at least 70USD saved on a new build, while Haswell → Skylake performance difference isn't really that huge

What about an i3

is it worth it to pay more for hyperthreading and 500Mhz

1) You can Overclock the pentium to 4.8GHz which is what mine is at.

2) i have the Pentium and i can run 90% of games with no stuttering and the rest run but not great, on a budget its worth it!

Holy crap though. literally everyone wants a haswell i5 or i3 on r/hardwareswap (at least in my area)

seems like a good source for parts, but it will take some searching

Well it would work, but that's a bit pricey. I can find a higher-clocked i5 for the same price
