Ok so I'm currently in the early stages of planning out my next PC which I hope to put together once I graduate in about 2 years. That being said I know much of what I put down here will be obsolete by then but seeing as this will be the first system I put together entirely myself I like to plan it out given what's currently on the market and then use whatever the equivalent will be once I build it.

Anyway I'm hoping to budget around €2000 and here are some specs:

CASE: Cooler Master HAF X

PSU: Corsair AX1200i

MOBO: Asus Maximus VI Hero

CPU: Intel core i7 4770k

GPU: Nvidia GTX780 (probably an Asus model)

Storage: 1TB SSD (there are a few of these but they're still quite expensive, I'm hoping they'll come down in price, currently I'll probably opt for a Samsung drive)

RAM: 16GB (2x8) Dominator Platinum

DVD drive: don't really mind, DVD is hardly cutting edge these days and a good drive is pretty cheap

Anyway that's the performance level I've got in mind by today's standards, comes up to a little over my budget especially since I'd have to import most of the stuff (I live in Malta and its almost impossible to find any decent stuff here)

As for peripherals I plan on keeping my current ones as they're all rather new and I can't really complain about any of them (exception being my razer Lachesis which can get a bit moody sometimes)

Anyway I'd appreciate any advice or feedback on the idea :)

Parts and prices change frequently--almost as much as every couple hours or so. Things will be quite different in 2 years.

Like others have said, plan later. Researching now is good but composing a parts list is a bit pointless. Your build should revolve around your needs/wants and your budget/pricing and that will change in time.
