I'm 14 and am about to buy my PC parts, I have saved for years and have about £1400 shall I spend it all or save a bit?

I ask this because my dad isn't too happy with the idea of me spending this amount of money

Well it's ultimately up to you. I spent ~2000£ on my first build which is my current one (built 2 years ago..). If you have the passion for the "hobby" if you will, then go ahead and get a beast machine, if you are not but want to play games on PC get a budget build.

My PC CPU: 2600K@4.5GHz 1.3v Cooler: Noctua NH-U12P SE2 MB: ASUS Maximus IV RAM: Kingston 1600MHz 8GB & Corsair 1600MHz 16GB GPU: 780Ti Storage: Samsung 850 Evo 500GB SSD, Samsung 830 256GB SSD, Kingston 128GB SSD, WD Black 1TB,WD Green 1TB. Consider an aftermarket cooler and get your OC on :D

I don't plan on OC straight away, i might wait until i notice a performance decrease. Then i will install a better cooler and OC.

Thanks

Save somewhere between 100-400, save it for a rainy day or slowly save money or put it in an interest account.

In 2 years or so you could do a nice upgrade!

I'm the one who overclocks.

You can get a pretty good rig for 500 pounds in the US, but I am not sure how much more expensive parts are in the UK.
