Razer blade stealth upgradeable?

Pittman90

Is the new Razer blade stealth (Kaby Lake) user upgradeable? Can I upgrade the RAM and the SSD?

ram no, ssd yes (although I think replacing the SSD forces you to break a warranty sticker)

Buy any other laptop, I'll consider it as an upgrade.

Then what is another good ultrabook to consider? I want to use a egpu with it

No ultrabook will be a good eGPU. You will need AT LEAST a quad core to get benefits from it. And. A Prema Bios enabled Clevo 1060 WILL perform similar or better than a eGPU 1070.

Laptop Main

(Retired) Zbook 15: i7-6820HQ, M2000M, 32gb, 512gb SSD + 2tb HDD, 4k Dreamcolor

(Retired) Alienware 15 R3: i7-6820HK, GTX1070, 16gb, 512 SSD + 1tb HDD, 1080p

(Retired) T560: i7-6600U, HD520, 16gb, 512gb SSD, 1620p

(Retired) P650RS: i7-6820HK, 1070, 16gb, 512gb + 1tb HDD, 4k Samsung PLS

(Retired) MBP 2012 Retina: i7-3820QM, GT650M, 16gb, 512gb SSD, 1800p

Yeah but I don't want all the downfalls that come with having a laptop with a 1060 in it, such as battery life, I already have 980 so that is why I want a Razer core or something so I can use my graphics card I already have with a notebook

My point is, buying an ultrabook with tb3 (mostly likely a RBS or XPS13) costs around 1000 + a core around 500. That's 1500 dollars. You could build a desktop or buy a better laptop like a P650RP6 that will outperform the core 980.

Another issue with a duo-core is that you'll be bottlenecking the life out of it. The 980 - 20% from tb3 conversion - bottleneck will perform considerably worse than anything on the market today

If you want to eGPU something I've always said the best laptop to do it with is a M5510. i7 6820HQ, minimum dGPU, good battery life and build.

Otherwise, http://www.ultrabookreview.com/10579-laptops-thunderbolt-3/, here's a list of TB3 laptops. If you absolutely need an ultrabook xps 13 I guess is "fine".

I think I have decided on something like the Dell xps 15 and the Akitio Node (razer core alternative) because it would be $1700 combined and I think the extra 200 or so is worth it for an i7 quad core and user upgradeability, this is the only 15in laptop I would go with I think because i have seen it in person and it fits into like a 14in body I think, which is very nice. Plus it has a 960m so I could play some really light games like csgo on the dgpu If I really wanted to.

While that other dell laptop is really nice and a great price I don't think I would be willing to spend that money on something that is refurbished or from eBay in general.

That's your choice. The reason why I picked that laptop was entirely for the CPU. Otherwise the M5510 and XPS15 are the same. The 6700HQ is a pretty bad CPU by objective standards. 3.1ghz 4 core turbo is hardly fast enough to keep up with a 1060 or 1070. Something like the last gen 4940MX mobile is FAR faster. The 6820HQ is better because you can unlock the turbo bins and OC it higher so it gets closer to a 6700k stock.

I totally understand that but I'm not comfortable spending that much money for a refurbished product that could break whenever and I have no warranty and probably customer support will not help since it is refurbished.
