So I built my first build about a month or two ago and have been having the CPU led stay on, which is a diagnostic light, and have been getting no display on my moniter throughout the entire time and have been attempting ever since  been trying to troubleshoot and fix the problem. I've tried checking all connections, having the bear minimum set up, checking for a bent pin and making sure I have the correct orientation of my CPU, having no and different places with RAM, taking out the battery from the mobo for 15 seconds, and putting my mobo outside of the case on nonconducter and starting up. This has been a bit of a frustrating process especially after finally building my first computer and if i cant find the issue I'm going to just get it looked at by someone who knows better than I but if someone here could help me that would be greatly appreciated by both me and my wallet. Thank you in advance!!

Here is my build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wZCMFd

Uhh... What 'CPU LED' do you mean specifically?  Is it POSTing?

the CPU led lights up if there is a direct problem with the CPU in some way. but i cant figure that out but the problem mey lie with the PSU in some way but im not sure

Oh, so it's one of the diagnostic lights?  So you mean it's not POSTing or even starting?  Because that would have been a super bit of information to include in your first post...

Okay, so the manual says there's four diagnostic LEDs on the board, each indicates a point of failure during POST if it's booting. CPU, VGA, Memory, or Boot Device.  If the CPU LED is lit up then the CPU is failing to initialize.  Since he's reseated it, that's about all you can do.  EIther the socket/mobo is dead or the CPU is dead.

But you said you built this a month ago.  Did it run at all or have you had this thing broken for an entire month?

has not been working once

You've had broken components for a MONTH and didn't make any effort to return them?  ...I'd be surprised if the return policy of where you bought them from would honor a return after that much time.  Why would you possibly wait a MONTH without taking more action?

Well when you spend more than 1300 bucks that should be a pretty high priority.  Specially since you could use it for school.  It seems like you knew as well what it was since it tells you what the LED means and what could be wrong with it.  That's where you take the 15 minutes to send in the mobo AND CPU to be safe.  But definitely should be sure to try reseating it.  Now I haven't needed to do it, but I hear it finds a way to fix some boot issues :D
