Does system requirements matter with keyboards?

should be ok with win 8. problems with keyboards are usually with mac or linux and thats just for backlights or media keys which usually have workarounds that are easy with Unix based systems

Yes. Windows has a ton of backwards compatibility features. Also, Windows 8 is not that old.
