need help upgrading to windows 10

I have trash windows 8 and wnat to install windows 10. (got new computer used to have windows 10)

I am going to buy a new windows 10 key but I am wondering if I can upgrade the same way people upgraded for free( no hassle all data kept) for the 1 year Microsoft pushed windows 10 down everyones throat.

So is there a hidden windows button that pops up that window , but since its no longer free, all I need to do is input a key and it starts that process for me?

i did google but windows 10 is not a nice keyword to use while googling things  :(

1) you can still get windows for free in multiple ways:

2) you should not "upgrade" windows, you should do a clean install.

Otherwise you will most likely have a ton of issues and things will not work properly, and the only fix is to clean install.

Don't install windows 10 then because the upgrade will probably cause many issues.

The upgrade process is broken and barely works half the time.

You would end up having to do a clean install to fix all the problems a few weeks or months from now.

If you want to keep your files then set firefox to sync bookmarks on your account and copy paste documents/music/pictures to a temporary drive.

Stuff like programs and games will need to be reinstalled.
