What should I do with my old DDR2 RAM?

Hi Guys,

I have had 14 2GB sticks of DDR2 RAM sitting in my draw for a while now, as far as i know it works. I was wondering what you guys think I should do with it.

I kind of have 4 options:

  1. Buy a Motherboard, CPU and Case to build a HTPC with some of the sticks. How much would it cost to do this? and where would you get the parts from? (main reason I used this section)
  2. Sell the RAM, it isn't worth that much but I got it for free in the first place
  3. Give it away to someone, not sure who will need it.
  4. Leave it in the draw

Thanks in advance,

Jam

sell it

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

id say sell it since belive it or not people still use DDR2 as old people or cheap people tend to have these older systems lying around and dont want to spend alot of money on a new PC so they just try their best to upgrade it so it can run so they would be willing to buy your memory even at $5 a piece since they wont be able to find it elsewhere as they dont make DDR2 ram anymore

Write your name (or a cool sculpture), paint it, and stick it to the wall (going full Linus's Office Mode)

Please quote me in any answers to my posts, so that I can read them easily and don´t forget about them. Thanks!

Keep it. Show it to your grandchildren one day and tell them how you had to actually build and troubleshoot your badass PCs whereas they just pick&choose and then 3D print them.
