I have a laptop lying around that will probably die soon, I can get around 1-2k PPD off of it and was wondering if mining with an ASIC miner and folding at the same time would be too much strain? I don't think it would be cut I don't want it to die before I has to xD

Wait, so I overclock the clock with a clock and a bucket of ice water?

Well either one of them would max out the resources AFAIK so i would just pick one.

No get the bucket of water and then overclock your clock and then get your clock take it out of the bucket and then overclock that clock and you are good to go.

Mining and Folding at the same time, I think it would be too much for it, either it will kill it or you'll have very little performance with either Mining or Folding.

Otherwise I'm not really sure

Also what is actually wrong with it to suggest that it's dying?

An ASIC will not stress your computer, laptop, or any device you have it plugged into.

All the hashing is done on the ASIC, then passed through the network to submit shares.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Users cannot, and will not securely manage key material. Most users can't and the ones that can, wont.

Ask me about Bitcoin, Litecoin, Crypto-Currencies, and/or Mining them.

Looks like I will be doing it then, thanks

Still, if your goal is not to kill your laptop folding might not be the best idea ;)

Well, not killing it is not what I want to do.
