Budget CPU Cooler Showdown

Go to solution Solved by Freezanator,

Thanks @Pohernori and @samcool55, I've decided to go with the ID-Cooling IS-40 Pro and I'll switch out the fan with another 92mm one. I'll probably create a new topic to help me make a decision on that too! :)

I will be cooling an Intel Core i3-6100. I know it can't be overclocked but I just want to keep it cool even after several years (which by then the stock Intel cooler will start to act up). So, I've compiled a list of 6 budget CPU coolers to choose from. Here are their links and prices:
1. Deepcool ALTA 9 CPU Cooler [92mm] - (30 MYR/ 7 USD)
2. Deepcool DC-GAMMA Archer CPU Cooler [120mm] - (39 MYR/ 9 USD)
3. Inno3D iChill X5 CPU Cooler [120mm] - (90 MYR/ 20.50 USD)

4. ID-Cooling IS-40 [92mm] - (99 MYR/ 22.50 USD)
5. Cryorig M9i CPU Cooler Tower [92mm] - (119 MYR/ 27 USD)

6. Cryorig C7 CPU Cooler Heatsink [92mm] - (149 MYR/ 34 USD)

Which CPU Cooler is best suited for me? My case is the Tecware F3 White/Black (Image below) and if possible, I'd like to suit the color theme but my I'd prefer to place the utmost importance in cooling and price. Other budget CPU cooler suggestions are welcome, but please use THIS SITE to browse for them. Thanks! :)

Out of all of those, it's between the M9i and C7. I'd say whichever's cheaper.

That would be the M9i. Any specific reasons why you chose both of them out of the bunch? :)

Both are from a known and very reputable manufacturer.

The one from ID-Cooling. Your vrms will thank you.

I agree. I personally like the low-profile design. However, it is just like Noctua's brown fans. Plain ugly. Also, it doesn't come with any warranty. Should I still go with it although there are these drawbacks?

I would get the ID cooling one.

Not the best one to cool the cpu BUT it is a top-down (i think that's what it's called) cooler so it also gives a bit of airflow for the motherboard VRM.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

Well the only thing that can die on a cpu cooler is the fan and i don't think that's a big issue...

They can be easily replaced if you want to :P

And looks are personal, i don't really mind the color but if you really hate it you could always just replace it with something you like.

I guess I'd go with the ID-Cooling IS 40 Pro and swap out the fan, but I'll see what others have to say first. :)

Its hard for things to go wrong with a heatsink. Most common point of failure is the fan. If you're worried about warranty then might as well get the cryorig one.

BUT they do have the lucifer v1 and it's very good, much better than all of the ones you listed. Seems to be a big discount on it too http://www.lazada.com.my/deepcool-one-12cm-pwm-fan-six-heatpipes-cpu-cooler-lucifer-forintel-socket-130wlga2011lga1366lga1156lga1155lga1150lga775-andamd-socket-125wfm2fm1am3am3am2am2-14189410.html
