Jumper118

seems like its going to be around 1.3v for 4.8ghz maybe with further tweaking i can get the voltage down a bit, been a while since tried messing with my cpu.

dont have time tonight to test anymore.

edit- seems stable @4.7ghz on 1.275

tested sim rig - this was running three monitors (all duplicated during the test)

There is something smashing my performance, not really sure if its the i5-750 or the 4gb of ram... thoughts?

i5-750 @ 2.75ghz

4gb ddr3

XFX r9 280x (clocks in valley are correct)

stock clocks (1080core/1550mem)

924 pointies

overclocked (1130core/1700mem)

1183 pointies

might do a 1.2ghz run later but I should be getting double this FPS in valley

yes! bench all the things! ain't nobody got time to play games :P you should be ok up to 1.35-1.4v for cinebench as long as the temps keep below 90c

cpu overclock will help, but it still shouldn't be that low. what is the gpu usage like?

I think my PC is little much all ready for the indie games I mostly play.

I don't even think I will see 80c with my old cpu cooler, that gentle typhoon I stuck on the 212+ does wonders you should see the temp drop when I stop benching it is comical. 70c down to 25c in like one second .

Thats ungodly low for that system. Even with it being a first gen i5 it still has a good amount of power.

Faster and faster we go. Any higher on the core and the driver crashes whenever I try to bench it which is a bummer, especially since I'm not even touching 100% power draw at these speeds according to PrecisionX, but I still have some more to get outta the memory before I give up.

So i was running 14.11 drivers - installed 14.5 drivers - it wouldnt update... tried uninstaling and resintalling drivers about 6 times with and without DDU - no joy, keeps installing the 7900 WDDM driver...

even had 14.11 installed, asked device manager to "check for updates" - it uninstalled the R9 280x driver and reinstalled the fucking 7900 driver!!

windows please.
