that's a waste of 15 dollars  - but find the imei for that phone and then go on verizon's site and verify on the byop widget that it's compatible

Short answer is no, it's locked to TracFone.

Long answer is maybe... if you buy the phone and keep service on it with TracFone for one year without any interruptions in payment then they will be legally required to unlock the device for you, but even then it's not likely that Verizon would add the phone's ESN to their network's white list. So still probably no.

Yes, it's 2871 as in the year 2871. I traveled all this way, back in time, just to help you. And you thought your mama lied when she said you were special-_-

Is there any way I could get a smartphone for less than 25USD to use temporarily while my LG G4 is in for repairs

Maybe, particularly if you tell them that your phone is in for repairs and you've been a long time customer, they may be able to work with you on some kind of loner, or maybe letting you barrow a LTE wifi thingy so you would use your data plan on a tablet or something. And if your local store won't help, try other nearby shops or calling the 800 nationwide number.

the problem is I sent my phone directly to LG for repairs, not Verizon. so I don't think they will do that

quite a while. over 8 years.

do you really think that they would give me a loaner phone just because I claim I don't have my normal one?

If you threaten them with leaving as a loyal customer, yes. Find a nice manager at a local store and talk to them about it.

Im in canada so i wouldn't really know how american stores do it, but i assume it's the same - i sent in my s6 for repairs and i talked to the manager at fido (basically the cheaper carrier u have in america that buys space from the bigger carriers) and he gave me the s7 edge that was on display to use for the 3 weeks my phone was in the shop - the loaner may not be new, but it'll be working and in decent quality
