save up a bit more, your not going to get a decent graphics card (unless you go used) with $120

Ok. Ill probably just go with a GTX 750 Ti.

DON'T DO THAT.

Try and save up just $20 more to get a GTX 1050 Ti. It blows the 750 Ti out of the water and even beats the GTX 960. This one's going for $129 after a $10 rebate.

Could you give us your total budget for the whole PC? We'll almost definitely be able to configure something more powerful for the same amount of money. Do you need a monitor, keyboard, and mouse? What about a Windows key?

No.

Just save up your money, earn some money, and get the GTX 1050. Much better than the 750, with a price at your range.

I mean, the graphics card isn't the best, but it's still pretty eligible.

Just realised I have just enough for the 1050 Ti, since my budget is on $593,29.

Nope just the PC.

Do you already have all of those things? If you don't have a 1080p monitor or something better, it might be advisable to get one. And you're definitely going to need a copy of Windows.

I would go for the 1050 Ti or 960 for a budget card right now

The 1050 Ti performs better and is cheaper than the 960. The RX 470 is cheaper than the 960 and a lot faster. There is no longer any reason to buy a GTX 960.

I don't know if you watched the video but it performed near enough identically to the 960. The 960 often pulled very slightly ahead. As for price, the 1050 Ti is only £15 less than the 960 was when it was new. It's definitely worth considering if you see one going cheap.

1:10- 'In fact, it's mostly on par - or even slightly better - than the GTX 960, which is not bad at all'. Also, the only title the GTX 960 pulls ahead in is in Rise of the Tomb Raider, and that's only in certain places.

The GTX 960 cheapest on PCPartPicker USA is going for $194. The cheapest GTX 1050 Ti on PCPartPicker USA is going for $139, or as low as $130 with a rebate.

Look at the numbers. They are mostly the same, occasionally the 960 is a couple of FPS ahead.

The cheapest 960 on PC part picker is £139. This makes it £4 more expensive than a 1050 Ti. It makes it £40 cheaper than a 470.

I don't know why you're insisting that someone buying a 960 at the end of 2016 would be buying one new, but even then it's not as expensive as you're pretending it is.

If someone is buying a gtx 960 I'd assume they would buy a used one and then it could be competitive if someone is selling it for cheap

Look at the graphs on the left. The only place where the 960 pulls significantly ahead is in Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Getting a 960 for even £4 more than a 1050 Ti is poor value, simply because a 1050 ti is better value. Furthermore, how much more expensive is it than the cheapest 1050 ti?

Buying a used GPU comes with the risks of buying a used GPU, and one might argue that a used 380 is better value, seeing as it's a faster card and sold for the same price back when they were both new.

Not as expensive as I'm pretending it is? The numbers are objective. Paying more for a slower card makes for poor value no matter how much more expensive, and this is also objective. Since OP is in the US (or at least listed his/her parts with US prices), the difference between a 1050 Ti and a 960 is $55, rather than £4, because UK prices do not apply to him/her. And even if it is just £4 more expensive and he did live in the UK, it would still be a poor decision, because the 1050 Ti is faster and cheaper.

I had to incorporate rebates to fit all this into something close to your budget, but at the end of the day, they do save you money- even if they are a bit of a hassle.

I'm not going to spend more of my Saturday arguing with someone who cannot, or will not, read.

The numbers speak for themselves. They perform about the same, if you can get a 960 cheap then why not.

I read and I responded. Stop making ad hominem arguments - which is a real waste of your precious saturday - and respond to what I said. If I 'could not' read, I wouldn't be typing coherent sentences. If I did not read, I wouldn't be typing in response to your incorrect points.

The graph would clearly illustrate a significant lead for either card (rather than a few arbitrary frames in a few places), and it does. The only place the 960 gets one is in Rise of the Tomb Raider, and only in some places. The green line represents the performance of the 1050 Ti.

UK prices do not apply to someone purchasing parts from the US, and the risks of buying a used card speak for themselves. Even if they did, £4 more is too much more for a slower card.

I have better things to waste my Saturday on than an argument where my opponent stands by an incorrect point simply because they made it.

Here's how a 1050 Ti performs against a 4GB GTX 960, which is going to be faster than a 2GB GTX 960. Here's a little hint; it's still faster, and considering 4GB 960s are considerably more expensive, there's an even greater difference in price.
