Yeah you can, the 8-Bit guy did a video on it.

Not that it's a very smart way of doing it, in the end an SSD will be cheaper

slow boot and the fact that he can't handle windows anymore, but chrome os will save me, won't it?

idk for chrome os but i guess now that my 1080p crysis 3 pc is for the junk as it needs like 3 minutes to boot..... xD JK

Just make clean install or windows XP or even 7 and i asure you it will run fine like before  (i made windows 7 home to work on pentium D without much lag (and it lags cuz it had only 1 gb of ram so if you have more you are good to go))

yeah - xp doesnt have support anymore so this will cause some lag :P

also i really hope you did 100% wipe of that drive and then installed the drivers you need

and last but not least clean this thing from dust and anything else that could be there

Yea, wiped the drive and cleaned the dust. Should i try running win10? Will not solve the long boot problem tho :/

There are no sales in Lithuania :D.. And it would be more fun to do something like this.

ssd fan boys everywhere.....

anyway even the usb raid is not a good idea beacuse  even if you get it to work somehow... how many mb/s can you squeeze from a usb 2.0 max? xD (and i bet you dont even have 2.0) idk  IDE speed but i know usb 2 - tops 30

Well seeing as the slowest part of the pc is its main storage it makes sense to upgrade that part first. It's only now with pci ssd that the storage bottleneck is going away.
