I need a new cpu for my pc i have the AMD FX 6300 but in many games load getting up to 100% on all 6 cores which is the best am3+ socket cpu for gaming?

Best one on the am3+ chipset (I know the cpu is practically the same as the one below it but it is clocked higher)

Not worth it to stay on am3+. Either stick it out, wait for zen or go intel

If you make a post contradicting mine that doesn't directly address my claims, or cites 'facts' without evidence, I'm probably not going to bother responding to it, because you probably didn't bother reading my post properly, and because life is too short. It doesn't mean I don't have an answer for you. It means I'm not dignifying you with a response.

am3+ is the socket, unless you mean chipset then 990fx. Personally, I would just wait for Zen to arrive.

no, it has more cores. 8core vs 6core. however you should go with a fx 8370 at most, because the 9590 uses 220w. chances are your motherboard doesnt support it.

Personal build >  New-ish AMD main gaming setup

PLEASE QUOTE OR @ ME FOR A RESPONSE xD

Aha didn't know that! Thanks! That chip is very power hungry

Some games see literally NO BENEFIT from FX8 from FX4 or FX6.

Games that don't even use all threads... the performance is the EXACT same.

Now... more modern games are better than older games in this regard, and you may see improvements in properly multi-threaded games.

But those that are not, may see little to absolute ZERO benefit moving from FX4/6 to FX8.

Which is why everybody wants to overclock FX, to make the most out of it, but even that adds more questions... (Motherboard VRM Phases & Quality VS Cooling)

Just beware some games wont benefit at all from FX6>8

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

You need a good mobo and a good AIO unless you are looking for a new toaster and... a fire.

@Banana2: Yup, the CPU is drawing you back, but with your setup you should get ~4.5 Ghz OC easy, if your target is 60 FPS then you should have no problems with those games, especially BF1.

BF1 is cpu entensif,

Having 100 fps will not necessarily gives good gaming performance. If the cpu is @ 100% usage all the time it will create stuttering lag spikes ever 2-3 seconds, wich will be annoyinh and almost unplayable. And that happens regardless of the fps ur getting. Thats cpu lag. its not fps lag.

I had an i5 4690K @ 4.5 ghz and with my gtx 1070, had over 80 fps all the time but cpu was at 100% usage mostly all the time and it was creating a lot of stuttering lag...

I upgraded to a 6700k and all the cpu spikes have disappeared. No stuttering at all anymore.

Of course in some maps the i5 was enough power, and in general the game was playable and some maps were 100% playable,

But the biggest maps, the city map, the grappa mount, and like 2 other maps were so greedy in cpu usage, my i5 simply cudnt run it...
